Catherine Richardson: Head of Family & Vulnerable Clients

Building Lasting Relationships:

Catherine's philosophy centres on building strong, long-term relationships with her clients. She believes in taking the time to understand their individual circumstances, family dynamics, and long-term goals. This in-depth understanding allows her and her team to craft tailor-made financial plans that evolve alongside their clients' changing needs.

Experience and Dedication:

Prior to joining Navigation Wealth Management, Catherine started her career in financial services based in Germany in 1996, helping soldiers and their families with their finances.

Back in the UK she worked with 2 high Street Banks, finally joining St. James's Place in 2012. Initially running her own successful company and most recently working with Navigation Wealth Management, allowing her to spend more time advising and guiding clients with their financial goals. This experience, coupled with her qualifications in specialist advice in the vulnerable and long-term care field, allows her to provide comprehensive wealth management advice encompassing:

  • Intergenerational Wealth Transfer: Developing strategies for smoothly passing on wealth to future generations while minimising inheritance tax liabilities.
  • Education Funding: Ensuring families have the resources to support their children and grandchildren's educational aspirations.
  • Long-Term Care Planning: Exploring options to manage potential long-term care needs and safeguard financial security in later life.
  • Estate Planning: Creating comprehensive estate plans that protect assets and ensure client wishes are carried out after their passing.
  • Financial Planning for Vulnerable Clients: Providing specialised support for elderly clients, clients with disabilities, and those experiencing life transitions like divorce or job loss.

A Champion for Vulnerable Clients:

Catherine is a strong advocate for vulnerable clients and is a member of the Financial Vulnerability Task Force, a Dementia Friend and is a fully accredited member of the ‘Society of Later Life Advisers’ (SOLLA).
