It's 40 years since I became involved in the financial planning world and that was by accident. Whilst attempting to put an electronic typewriter on trial at the offices of Canada life in Maidstone, they offered me a job. 40 years later I’m still here with no intention of retiring. The job I do is too important.
What is that job? What do I do you may ask? The simple answer is to guide people using deep questioning, sometimes supported by lifetime cash flow modelling software, to a situation where they have enough money when they need the money the most. Those needs are based on individual circumstances. Some are predictable, many are surprises. It’s solving the perennial question ‘what happens to you financially if….? It's not always subject matter that people wish to address, and I see it as my role to encourage them to address it. Living on purpose and with purpose to extract the most out of our short tenure on this earth demands proper planning. That is what I facilitate with imaginative clients who are on or willing to come on the same wavelength.
As Captain of Beverley Golf Club, each year the Captain chooses a charity to support during their term of office. I am honoured to have chosen House of Light.
House of Light is a perinatal mental health charity that supports parents struggling following pregnancy, birth, miscarriage, failed IVF, stillbirth, and baby loss. They provide counselling, peer support, and dedicated support within Hull Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
This cause is particularly close to my heart, having seen the devastating impact that failed IVF cycles, miscarriages, and stillbirths can have on families and friends. The support House of Light provides is truly invaluable.

In May 2025, I invited my clients to share their thoughts on my services and the value I provide through my "Client Viewpoint Questionnaire."
26 clients responded, giving me invaluable insights into what I do well and areas for growth. I’m grateful to everyone who participated, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights from this group and their responses below.
